3 Things That Will Keep Your Xpece Waterproof Drone Flying Smooth

Waterproof drones are a game-changer for anglers—but like boats or any gear exposed to the elements, they require regular care to stay in peak shape. If you own an Xpece One or any of the rugged Xpece fishing drones, here are three key practices that will keep it flying strong for years.

1. Regular Inspections

Just like checking your boat before a launch, inspect your Xpece drone before every flight:

  • Examine the frame, battery compartment, and waterproof seals for gaps, sand, or cracks.

  • Ensure the battery compartment is tightly sealed and all screws and arms are secure.

  • Look for corrosion on electrical contacts and lubricate sealing rings if necessary (use Vaseline or silicone oil).

Battery care: Never fly with a swollen or damaged battery. Make sure it’s fully charged, securely installed, and clean from oxidation. If you see rust-colored or greenish pins—replace it.

Motor check: Rotate each motor manually to feel for resistance. Run them without props to listen for irregular sounds. If salt deposits are visible, rinse thoroughly with freshwater.

Propellers: Check for cracks or damage and replace if needed. Confirm CW/CCW directions match between motors and props.

Gimbal camera: Confirm smooth movement, clear video feed, and clean connections. Use only a proper lens-cleaning kit for optics. Rinse with fresh water if salt crystals are seen.

Remote control: Make sure joysticks, buttons, antennas, and the screen function properly. Contact Xpece support if something’s not responsive.

2. Post-Flight Maintenance

Saltwater is brutal. After every ocean session:

  • Rinse your Xpece drone—especially the motors and gimbal—with fresh water.

  • Wipe off excess water before opening GPS compartments or connectors.

  • Keep lenses clean with soft cloths and avoid corrosive chemicals.

  • Store it out of direct sunlight in a cool, dry area (20°C–28°C ideally).

3. Storage and Transport

Before putting your Xpece drone away:

  • Power off, disconnect the batteries, and wipe the drone clean.

  • Store in a padded case in a ventilated space with consistent room temperature.

  • Fully charge the drone and controller batteries before long-term storage.

  • Recharge every 3 months to avoid deep discharge and battery damage.

Final Note: Consistent care is the secret to extending the life of your Xpece fishing drone. Treat it like the high-performance fishing machine it is—and it’ll reward you with smooth flights and monster catches every time.
