WHAT IS THE GOFISH CAM?

GoFish Cam is a wireless underwater fishing camera that sits on your fishing line and works with a mobile app. Anglers can capture action-packed footage, gain insight into the underwater fishing experience, and review awesome video content that can be shared on social media.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE LINE BREAKS

When properly rigged, you’ll likely get your camera back even if the line breaks. The key is to make sure the line breaks below the camera. Tie the camera between a heavier main line and a lighter leader line. The main line should be at least twice the weight of the leader line to make sure the leader line snaps first.

For added peace of mind, Gofish Cam does offer a 2 years camera loss protection program

WHEN YOU SHOULD USE GOFISH CAM

Use your GoFish Cam in both freshwater and saltwater environments, and capture underwater video when casting, trolling, bottom fishing, ice fishing, kayak fishing, and float fishing.

Made For All Fishing Styles

Use your GoFish Cam in both freshwater and saltwater environments, and capture underwater video when casting, trolling, bottom fishing, and float fishing.

    • Cast & Retrieve

Cast perfectly with GoFish Cam's small size. At 11.5cm long and pre-weighted to an optimized 94g (no added weights necessary), it's perfect for small mouth bass, pike, and even larger saltwater fish.

    • Bottom Fishing

Put the cam on your rig setup and sink it. Whether you're rigged up with a sinker for snapper, vertical jigging for striped bass, or drag fishing for flounder you'll capture the underwater action like never before.

    • Trolling

Bait your fish lines for the big ones. Thanks to three stabilization fins and our pre-set weight system, you can troll at slow or fast speeds. 1000lbs tension rating for those trophy catches.

  • Float Fishing

Stream Live to your mobile device. With your GoFish Cam Float Accessory, your wireless underwater fishing camera will turn into a bobber that enables you to live-stream the underwater action from the surface with a top down view. Please note, you cannot live-stream when underwater

Until now you could only imagine what was going on beneath the surface. You could only guess about the one that got away. You didn’t know how the fish were reacting to your bait or lure. But now you can. An underwater fishing camera to record your lure lets you see it all!

THE BENEFITS OF GOFISH CAM

FAQ

How does the LOSS Plan Work?

The LOSS Plan is provides directly by Urban Drones and is very simple. If you lose the camera within 12 months and you can proof that you had the camera in possession the day you lost it, you'll get a new camera sent in the mail at no cost to you. to proof that you had the camera the day you lost it, you can take a picture of the camera the day that you were fishing with proof of date.

DOES THE CAMERA LIVE STREAM VIDEO?

No wireless technology can transfer video through water. The camera can live stream only when using the bobber accessory to stay above water. When underwater, the camera does not stream live.

HOW BIG IS THE CAMERA?

The camera is 4 inches long by 1 inch in diameter and is purposefully designed to be small enough for casting and most fishing types.

HOW HEAVY IS THE CAMERA?

The camera weighs 3.3 oz. In the water, built-in air pockets cut that weight in half to minimize the camera’s effect on the lure.

WHAT FISHING STYLES CAN THE CAMERA BE USED FOR?

The camera is applicable for four different fishing styles; Trolling, Casting, Float, and Bottom Fishing

Trolling is the most popular style the GoFish Cam is used for. In this style of fishing, there exists the most tension, as there is always drag. The drag keeps the camera extremely steady and will allow exceptional quality footage.

Casting is another popular style the GoFish Cam is used for. In this style of fishing, there may be some shaky footage, however, as long as you’re reeling, the camera will be kept steady. Heavier lures for casting work better than lighter ones. For casting, we recommend using a heavier line, and side-casting to not have the line break during your casts.

The GoFish Cam can also be used for bottom fishing. In this style of fishing, make sure the weight is attached prior to the camera’s connection to the line. This way, the camera will be facing the hook and not the weight or make sure the camera is above the bait on the line if you're attaching the weight at the very end.

For float fishing, the GoFish Cam comes with a free accessory that turns your GoFish Cam into a float/bobber. With this accessory you can live stream a bird's eye view direct to your phone using the GoFish Cam mobile fishing app!

DOES THE CAMERA SCARE FISH AWAY?

Not at all. In fact, read on below to see how GoFish Cam helps you attract fish. In fact, many of our customers have submitted videos of predatory fish taking bites at the camera!

HOW DO I ATTACH THE GOFISH CAM TO MY LINE?

The GoFish Cam is very easy to attach to a fishing line. There are two ends to the camera. The back end will be attached to the casting line and the front end to your leader line. You can either tie the lines straight to the camera or tie your line to a snap/swivel and use the snap to connect to the camera.

WHAT KIND OF FISHING LINE SHOULD I USE?

We recommend using a heavy braided test line and a less heavy monofilament leader line. When using the camera for cast & retrieve, we recommend using higher than 30 lbs test line and also recommend side casting versus overhead casting.

HOW LONG SHOULD THE LEADER LINE BE?

It depends on the type of fishing you are doing, the lighting, and the clarity of water. The leader line should be between 2-6 feet long.

HOW DO YOU STOP THE CAMERA FROM SPINNING?

The camera is built with stabilization fins. The fins work best when there is tension or drag from both ends of the camera. As long as you’re trolling, reeling in, or battling a fish, you’ll find there is no spinning. The more action, the more stable! The use of swivels and snaps to attach the camera to the line will also make for more stable footage. Additionally, depending how fast you are trolling or retrieving, adding some weight to the main line about a foot in front of the camera will create more stable retrieval.

HOW DOES THE WIFI WORK?

The GoFish Cam emits its own WiFi signal. The camera works similar to how your house’s WiFi does; when you leave the range of your house, your phone disconnects, and once your phone comes back into range, it reconnects. When the camera comes back into range of your phone, it picks up on the WiFi signal and reconnects. This allows you to review all the footage on your GoFish Cam via the fishing app on your mobile device. The Wifi will disconnect while underwater. If you are cast and retrieving, it will auto connect every time you reel in. If you're keeping the camera underwater longer, it will stop "searching" after 5 minutes. To reconnect then, you'd have to open the camera and press the WiFi button again.

HOW FAR DOES THE WIFI GO?

The WiFi when in float mode works up to 30 feet.
Current wireless technology for WiFi does not allow it to go underwater as the water disrupts the signal. We are working closely with researchers and different studies to make sure that when WiFi has underwater capabilities, the GoFish Cam will too!
