The Splash Drone 3 has dramatic improvements compared to the Splash Drone 2. It comes with a quick release waterproof 4K gimbal mounted camera, the 4KGC-2, an all in one FPV remote controller, a completely re-designed design flight control system, the S3 flight controller, an improved second generation power system, a quick release FPV payload release, a brand new design for the carrying and storage of the Splash Drone 3.

Q: The remote controller battery seems to have a lack of capacity, as I understand it, the working time for the remote battery is around 3hours, why is the battery on my controller lasting only 5-10minutes?

A: Because it is not well charged. When you see this problem, please unplug the battery from the balance charger, plug again, normally the battery will be fully charged without problem.

Q: I am trying to connect the wifi on my camera to my mobile phone, I pushed the wi fi button on the camera, it wont stay red, and the connection failed, Why?

A: The photo mode switch could be in the incorrect position, please switch the mode switch to the preview position, and short press the wi fi button on the camera, the red led on the camera will stay on, now connect your phone to the camera, lastly, start the Swellcam APP/APK.

Question: Can I buy and use the splash drone 3 gimbal 4KGC on my splash drone 2?

Q1: After booting, the remote control continuously sends out the warning tone, what reason is it?

A: May be remote control battery power is low; May all the toggle switches on the controllers (Airdrop Switch, Camera Switch, Mode Switch and Return Home Switch) are not in the up position for power up.

Q2: The max video recording resolution is 4k for Splash Drone 3?

A: Yes, the splash drone 3 max video resolution is 4:3 2880x2160 resolution; 24fps.

Q3: What is the max flight speed of the Splash Drone 3?

A: The max flight speed of Splash Drone 3 is 58Km/h (36mph)

Q4: Is the Splash Drone 3 able to return to a moving boat?

A: No, it can only return to its take off point (starting location.)

Q5: How much load can the Splash Drone 3 carry?

A: Splash Drone 3 can carry a max. payload of 1kilogram, However, it should be realized the maximum take-off weight of the drone is 3 kilograms.

Q6: Can the Splash Drone 3 be used as a submarine under water?

A: No, unfortunately not. Splash Drone 3 itself is buoyant and floats like a boat, with approximately half of its body and the gimbal submerged into the water.

Q7: Can I use the Splash Drone 3 to see objects in the water.

A: The Splash Drone 3 is equipped with a camera, the aircraft stays afloat, you can see the underwater objects by virtue of the return image on the controller screen, the AUTO version can record high-definition images.

Q8: What is the flight time for Splash Drone 3

A: The test flight time of the AUTO version is around 15 minutes. While the flight time for the Fisherman version is around 18minutes. This is affected by the characteristic of the flight, and the wind conditions, which may demand increased power, and hence reduce the flying time.

Q9: What is the typical maximum wind speed that the Splash Drone 3 can survive in?

A: With wind speeds of up to 27 km/h (17 mph) or Beaufort force 4 , the Splash Drone 3 is able to fly normally without any problems.

Q10: Is it possible that the Splash Drone 3 can use both the payload release system and the 4K camera gimbal at the same time?

A: No, but they can be changed over in minutes.

Q11: Can the remote controller of the Splash Drone 3 AUTO be used to take pictures or videos?

A: Yes.

Q12: What is the max flight distance of Splash Drone 3?

A: The advertised max flight distance is 1 kilometer, however, the actual flight distance could reach up to 1.4kilometres. In the interests of flight safety, and while in GPS mode, the electronic fence is active by default which is with a maximum height of 200m, and a maximum radius from the take off point of 500m .The electronic fence parameters can be adjusted using the Assistant Software. In ATTI mode, the electronic fence is not turned on.

Q13: Can the Splash Drone 3 be used in seawater? Are there any special points to consider?

A: Sure. However, after use, try to soak the aircraft in fresh water for a period of time and then rinse it. It is advisable to do this as soon as practical to avoid salt crystal formation.

Q14: If the Splash Drone 3, while landing on the water, accidentally turns over, what should I do?

A: Please try to salvage the aircraft in within 30 minutes, so as to prevent water from permeating the membrane into the aircraft, and the resultant damage to the aircraft’s electronic components.

Q15: How is it possible for the aircraft to return to within visible range once outside the line of sight?

A: In the case of good GPS signals, you can return the drone to its takeoff position by switching to return-home mode, and then switch back to the GPS mode or ATTI mode when flying within the visible range.

Q16: What should be done if the drone is suddenly out of control?

A: Please switch to ATTI mode and regain manual control. If that fails, lock the motors, but ensure the aircraft is in a safe area, and the aircraft will fall straight to the ground.

Q17: What is the charging time of the drone battery?

A: It takes approximately one hour.

Q18: Why hasn't the drone been able to detect satellite signals?

A: Please check if there is buildings around which could affect the satellite reception, The GPS needs to work outdoors;

Q19: Why is the remote control start alarm enabled?

A: The remote control battery is low on power, please charge or replace the remote control battery.

Q20: What should I do if the gimbal is not in the horizontal position?

A: At this time you need to calibrate the gimbal. Please refer to the operating instructions for the gimbal calibration

Q21: Why is the actual video transmission distance sometimes less than 1000 meters?

A: The video transmission power consumption is divided into 3 standardized settings: 25mW, 400mW, and 600mW. The effective distance can only reach or exceed 1000 meters only at 600mW.

Q22: My drone landed on the water. The video signal is gone. Is it normal?

A: Yes, it is Normal. In order to get the best video transmission the drone should be airborne; the transmission antenna is at the bottom of the drone, as a result of this, when the drone drops onto the water, the transmission effect can be impeded.

Q23: I can't use the Swellcam APP to control the gimbal camera to capture 4K video, is that correct?

A: Yes, if you want to capture 4K videos, you can only set the default video options via the APP, and then control the camera by remote control.

Q24: The video transmitter feels very hot, is that normal?

A: Yes, it is normal. Please don’t touch it with your hand when the drone is power on.

Q25: I discovered that the waterproof membrane seal is damaged or has small holes, what should I do?

A: Please replace the waterproof membrane seal as a matter of priority, also, please avoid water surface flying for a long time, this can cause water infiltrates into the drone, resulting in damage to the electronics, and the drone going out of control.

Q26: Do I need to do calibration before each flight?

A: Generally no, when flying at the same place, just one time. If the drone hasn't been flown for a long time, it's recommended to do calibration again before flying.
